About this artwork

Parasurama's teacher Shiva challenged him to a fight to see how far his pupil had come as a martial fighter. After twenty one days of status quo fighting, Parasurama ducked to avoid Shiva's blow and struck him with his Parasu (axe). Shiva was so pleased with his disciple's prowess, he let the wound remain as a symbol of Parasurama's mastery over the art of combat earning himself the epithet 'Khanda Parasu' The body form is of course inspired by The Matrix
