Kathmandu, before.

About this artwork

This is a view of the Kathmandu Valley from Dharahara, a nine storey tower in the heart of the city. In red is the Basantpur Durbar Square, a UNESCO world heritage site surrounded by an incredibly dense medieval settlement. Although the tower has collapsed in the recent earthquake and much of the city is in shambles, here’s hoping that I get to relive the Kathmandu I’ve come to understand and love again this lifetime!
