Of Ruskin Bond Memories
An old sketch I did a while back as a way of remembering some of my childhood years spent in Karu, a small village on the outskirts of Leh, Ladakh. Our house was in the middle of two parallel ranges, the Ladakh and Zanskar Range and on the banks of river Indus, known for its ice-cold water and the delicious trout fish. Amongst the million memories I have from here, the ones that stand out involve sandstorms, fishing, steaming hot momos, snowfalls and the most beautiful night sky you would ever see. I call this the Ruskin-Bond-phase of my life where life was all about the simple pleasures. Ink and watercolour.
